Welcome to homeject.com (the “Site”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

1. Who runs the Site

5. No AI training or automated scraping

We do not consent to the content on this Site being used or accessed by any third party for the purposes of developing, training, fine-tuning, evaluating, or operating artificial intelligence, machine learning, or large language model systems (“AI Purposes”), except with our express prior written permission.

  • You own the rights to what you submit, or have permission to submit it.
  • Your submission won’t be illegal, defamatory, infringing, abusive, harassing, threatening, obscene, or hateful, and won’t violate anyone’s privacy or contain malware.

  • Interfere with the Site, introduce malware, or use automated tools to overload it.
  • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.

8. DIY safety — use at your own risk

Homeject is a personal blog about DIY home-improvement projects. The content reflects our personal experience and opinions. It is not professional advice. Please read our full Disclaimer before attempting any project on the Site.

Construction, electrical, plumbing, structural, and similar work can result in serious injury, death, or property damage. Local building codes, permit requirements, and product specifications vary. Always consult licensed professionals and your local authorities before starting any project. You assume all risk for any project you undertake based on content from the Site.

9. Third-party links and content

The Site may link to third-party sites, products, or services. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Following an outside link is your decision and your risk.

10. “As is” — no warranties

The Site and everything on it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Homeject and its owners, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or the content on it — whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and whether or not we’ve been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where the law doesn’t allow exclusion of certain liabilities, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid us (which is $0 unless otherwise agreed in writing).

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Site, (b) any content you submit, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, without notice. The sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, AI training prohibition, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to bring any dispute exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Site. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
